What's on your Workdesk Wednesday
Well I have managed to get myself a craft desk whilst on holidays, hubby found this fold up table at Officeworks in Brisbane and said he needed it for fishing and that I could use it while on holiday. YIPPEE. As you can see I have the bare minimum here, only brought stuff I need to put together, some of these kits are 2 years old that I had prepared and after my shoulder operation I couldn't do much so out they came with me. Of course these cards are going to the Military overseas so they can send back to their families, that is my voluntary part using my craft.
3 cards for the Troops and 3 photos boxes, one for my mum, and other two for friends
My aim for 2012 is to make 20 cards per month for the troops as well as using up all the UFOs (unfinished objects) I have that I prepared a few years ago. When I get back home from my holidays I will make a tutorial on the boxes I have made from scratch above as I have been having lots of comments about them and would like you all to have one to make for yourselves as they are easy as to make TRULY!!!
My craft stuff fit into a small bag
This is the beautiful view we have from our holiday apartment in Surfers Paradise
Street view
P.S. I cant believe there is no aircondition up here where the temperatures are very hot and humid!!
Hop on over to Julia Dunnit's blog to see all the other desks this week

  1. Ah you air con junkies make me smile! We have a holiday place in Spain and my American sister won't use it because it has no air con!! Score on the desk use, it looks huge..and what a lot of stuff you're making from one small bag full!!

  2. How great to have a craft table while on vacation, Bridget! And it looks like you've been very busy. I love your ocean view and I'm absolutely with you when it comes to wondering about a lack of air conditioning in a hot and humid place. One of my first questions when booking is usually "is there air conditioning?" Hate to be hot. I noticed your name is frosted......helping you keep your cool?

  16. The cards for the troops are such a great idea. Several years ago a friend and I made mini Valentine cards and sent them to a VA hospital here in the states. It felt so good to do something for them.

The boxes are wonderful too - can't wait for the tutorial!

    The vacation spot looks fabulous!

  24. You have done a great job on those gift boxes. Your cards are lovely. I do not recognise your die, who makes that one?
I would miss air con too. You packed your bag well.
Why am I working on the floor you ask well my desk is pile high ready for sorting. Also it is warmer in the living room. Have a lovely holiday.

  25. Really looks like you are having fun on holiday and I too always take crafting equipment with me. Even my sewing machine went with me last time but I anticipated the bad weather and we were travelling by car so no probs carrying it.
The pink thing on my desk is a Cinch.... a binding machine. It punches the slots and applies spiral binding to books of any size. I love it and got it at a bargain price. Great location near the beach but I'd be out buying a cheapo fan if there was no air con with the temps you have.

  27. I'm with you on the AC. I can take the cold, but not the heat. Great score on that table, and those cards are awesome. What a super and ambitious plan for the troops. (I'm #3 this week)

  28. Wow! All that goodness goes into a bag? That's a kicker. I do love your photo boxes and a tutorial would be nice but I'm not sure I could do them justice.

I really liked your cards too and found them inspirational. I didn't really know what to work on next but now I think I'll play with some of my label dies.
